Naming
Nine PBS is St. Louis’ PBS station, providing trusted programming, educational resources, and community initiatives that inform, inspire, and connect people across the region. As part of that broader mission, Nine PBS supports young learners through early education programming, family resources, and initiatives for educators and the community.
As these efforts continued to grow, the organization needed a clearer, more cohesive way to communicate its expanding ecosystem of programs across audiences and channels. Together, we developed Learning League—a distinct brand identity and design system that complements the broader Nine PBS brand while giving its early education initiatives a unified presence.
Built around three key audiences—Educators, Families, and Community—the system uses logo variations, color coding, iconography, and clear hierarchy to create structure while keeping the brand approachable and flexible. The result is a cohesive framework that helps Nine PBS communicate consistently across programs, platforms, and outreach while making its resources easier for audiences to navigate and connect with.
“We are extremely happy with where we landed and love our new name and brand! We’re also very happy with the other assets provided, especially the beautifully organized brand book that has already helped us communicate the meaning and intention behind our name and brand.”
